Hooking on Cycling and Walking

Greece - Halkidiki

Welcome to Hooked on Walking holidays and this wonderful fixed location walking holiday in Greece. On this hiking vacation in Greece in the Halkidiki region you stay for a week in a wonderful four star hotel and enjoy five self guided walks included in the package during the week.  In addition you will have the option of purchasing other nature activities such as canoeing, mountain biking, cycling, paragliding, snorkeling, diving, horse riding and Jeep Safari direct from your hotel when you arrive. This location makes for an ideal multi-activity holiday location.
Halkidiki is the three-pronged peninsula, which extends southward into the Aegean Sea from the centre of Macedonia-Greece. As a result of its shape and the proximity of the sea, Halkidiki benefits from a mild climate and has the longest coastline on mainland Greece. The three smaller peninsulas that form Halkidiki are all beautiful but also very different. They are called Kassandra, Sithonia and Agion Oros. We will be stationed at the middle one, called Sithonia, since it has the most variable natural features and it offers pure, inspiring nature and powerful surroundings. Sithonia provides excellent routes for walks, trekking or even for mountain bike. The diversity of green and blue highlights on the water creates a magical atmosphere.
Its worth pointing out that as Halkidiki, Sithonia has great cultural value and welcoming residents.

Another feature of this route is the sweet smell of honey as in the areas of the forest track it’s lined with beehives however remaining safe from stings. As the track gets sandy it leads to a narrow woodland path that leads to the rock named after his ‘owner’ Peter. ‘Petros’ is a very large rock with a trig point on its summit that breaks up through the trees.
