It is also pretty unique as it has situated in its middle is Spain’s highest peak Mount Tiede. To the south of the peak the landscape is very barren and desert like - it is where the majority of the beach lovers head for, to the north of the peak the landscape is totally different , forests , green vegetation and wonderful scenery.  Our 7 night level two hiking vacation on Tenerife explores all the wonderful regions on the Island. Your walking holiday on Tenerife will show you the nice green parts as well as the barren red stoned Mount Tiede region

Level 2-3 self guided tour

Day 1 Arrival at Tenerife North airport.
Transfer to Orotava. Charming hotel with Moorish atmosphere.

Day 2 Orotava Circular walk
Transfer by public bus to Aguamansa. Circular walk through the valley of Orotava with exuberant Canary flora and pine tree forest with fabulous beautifully sculpted hillsides to the forest. (5 hours). Transfer back to Orotava by public bus.

Day 3 Orotava to Garachico
Taxi transfer to Montaneta. Fascinating walk through black lava fields and green woods of bay laurel trees, which ends at the market square of Los Silos (6.5 hours). Transfer by public bus to Garachico, where you stay in a restored 16th century mansion.

Day 4 Garachio circular walk
Transfer by public bus to El Palmar. Day-walk through fields of giant Euphorbia and a great variety of exotic succulents to the Punta del Tena, the westernmost corner of Tenerife (6 hours). Transfer back to Garachico by public bus.

Day 5 Choice of two walks
Transfer by taxi to the Parador de Cañadas del Teide. Choice between an easy but interesting walk through colourful lava fields around Cañadas (3 hours) or an ascent to Guajara Peak (2717m). This walk (6 hours) isn’t suitable for people who are afraid of heights.

Day 6 Pico Teide to El Portillo
Panoramic walk along the slopes of the Pico Teide to El Portillo (5 hours). Transfer by taxi to La Laguna where you have a good hotel on the central square.

Day 7 La Laguna
Taxi transfer of 50min to Tagana, the eastern part of Tenerife. Day-walk through deep gorges high above sea level with very typical vegetation (6 hours). From Las Carboneras the taxi takes you back to La Laguna.

Day 8 After breakfast the taxi will take you to the Tenerife North airport.

Difficulty: Level 2-3: day-walks of 5 to 7 hours, during which you usually climb and descend 900 m (on days 5 and 6 you descend 1200m).

Orotava - Hotel Alhambra
The hotel is situated in the old town of La Orotava, with more than 500 years of history, on the north side of Tenerife. It offers five double bedrooms, each one with an exclusive bathroom, several sitting rooms, lounges and reading rooms, an exhibit room with paintings and frescos by the Master Antonio Otazzo, and an Moorish-style terrace with swimming pool.
Garachico - Hotel La Quinta Roja
The grand residence of the Marquis of "La Quinta Roja", nowadays the hotel of the same name, is one of the finest examples of island architecture from the Baroque period. The original building dates back to the 16th century, coinciding with King Charles II granting the title of Marqués de la Quinta Roja. Although the history of the building is apparent in all the common rooms and especially on the interior patio, the bedrooms are modern and very comfortable.
Cañadas del teide - Parador Cañadas del Teide
The Parador, located inside the natural Cañadas del Teide crater, more than 2,000 metres above sea level, invites the guest to contemplate impressive panoramic views of the Teide cone, Chaorra Crater and White Mountain. The only building within El Teide National Park, its interior recreates the ambience of a mountain lodge both in the common rooms and bedrooms and has terraces with impressive panoramic views to El Teide.
La Laguna - Hotel Nivaria
Located in a magnificent building from the XVIII century, on Plaza del Adelantado square in the historic centre of La Laguna, this hotel has kept its ancient Spanish ambience although it has been completely renovated inside and now offers 60 studios and apartments.
