WHAT IS AN E-BIKE?

An electric bicycle, also known as an e-bike, is a bicycle with an integrated electric motor which can be used for propulsion.

CAN BATTERY BE USED ALL THE TIME?

It is up to you how often you use the battery, whether it be just for hills or when there is a strong headwind. However the more you use the battery the quicker it will run out.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE TO RECHARGE?

We advise to charge the battery every night after your days cycle so that they are fully charged for the next day.

HOW MANY MILES CAN THE BATTERY LAST FOR?

It is said that E-bikes can now last for up to 100km (roughly 60 miles) however this will all depend on certain factors – the mode of which the e-bike is set (eco, normal or sport), the number of hills and how steep they are, strength of any headwinds you may encounter and whether  you use the motor all the time or not.

DO E-BIKES WEIGH MORE?

Yes they generally weigh 5-7kg more than a normal rental bike. However, when using the motor the extra weight cannot really be felt.

HOW FAST CAN AN E-BIKE GO?

Under European Law, E-Bikes have to cut out at 15mph. However, when not using the motor and/or free-wheeling you can go faster if you wish.

DO YOU NEED A DRIVING LICENSE?

No you do not need to have a driving license for an e-bike as they cut out at 15mph
